This is how I feel most mornings.
Web 2.2 (Nooooo….make it stop!!!)
If you’re like me and hate the whole concept of Web 2.0 then don’t click this link. You don’t want to hear about Web 2.2.
For the record: I have nothing against the technologies that are wrapped under the name “Web 2.0,” nor do I dislike the “community orienteation” concept that it embodies, either. I just dislike the name. Its not like the “web” protocol changed (if there was such a thing) or the “web” standard was revised (again, there’s no such thing). Its just a new idea, a new approach to providing web content to users. When flourescent light bulbs came on the market, we didn’t callit “lighing 2.0,” so why do we have to connect such a name to the web concept?

Strategic Energy Fund
My all-time favorite senator, Carpetbagger Clinton, is running political ads proposing a “Strategic Energy Fund” where she would take some of the “huge profits” from oil companies and invest the money into research of alernative fuel sources. Now, I’m all for reducing our dependence on oil, but Hillary’s plan has such a HUGE hole in it that I have to laugh everytime I see the ad.
First, what oil company will agree to put money toward their self destruction? If the oil companies want to support research on alternative fuels then they can put their money toward their own private research. I’m sure some do that already.
Second, any time thatthe govenment mandates that a company gives it money then that is called a TAX. And a tax is a cost of doing business. How do companies deal with cost of doing business? They raise prices to keep their profits consistent. So Hillary’s plan won’t hurt the big oil companies, it will hurt her consituants every time we fill up our cars.
So, Hillary, tell me about thise 40,000 jobs that you promissed to bring to upstate. Last time I checked, we’ve lost about half that number overall in the last two years. And why do we loose these jobs? Because the high taxes that upstate businesses pay do little to attract new employers. So how is adding more taxes to our energy costs going to help us out now?
I vote to send Hillary back to Arkansas!
